The crucial point is whether the Italian will to do the graphs through the stupid way, also the only way.

She has spent lots of time seeking a "perfect" software which can satisfy all her expectation once. The stress of deadline is chasing her. She couldn't believe that she is in the 21st century. And yet, she has to use the "stupid" methods to make her graphs.

Indeed, it's the 21st century now. It doesn't mean people earn more money or labs could apply for more grant to fit "21st century" criterion. No money, no fancy equipment! The impact factor of the journal she submitted is around 4.6. In our lab, the impact factors of the major papers were between 3 and 4. Nothing is free in the world. If you want to have a high impact factor paper, you have to earn it! Not to mention she is luckier than me and the Bulgarian (until now). After working for two years, she is going to have a 4.6 paper. The Bulgarian still has nothing. The impact factors of my papers were always lower than 4.

It's tough in our lab to face all of these things alone. Senior PI should assign a postdoc or a supervisor to guide her. I am the only postdoc in this lab. That's true. Since I am out of the author list and nobody requires me to do anything about this paper, the thing is pretty clear to me. I do not belong to that topic/group. I should not interfere with the revision of this paper. However, I am kinds of involved in it because she knocks my door every day to seek the guideline and I give her.

Frankly, we are in a bad circle and wait for the moment of death.

By the way, the Bulgarian has rejected to offer her assistance to do the graphs.
